Ephesians 5:22-28

Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands as you do to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior. Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything. Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless. In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself.

How We Got Together

I remember the first day that I laid eyes on this man in 2007. Yusef was this handsome, quiet and mysterious person that I wanted to know more about. At that time, we both were in different places of our lives but little did we know that was the beginning of our forever. Six years later, Meisha walked into a super bowl party and her entire presence captivated me. I had to know more about her. I'm not sure what it was but I knew I had to pursue her. After countless like, comments and small talk, we went on our first of many dates. Over 13 years later, here we are, stronger than ever.

How We've Stayed Together

Over the past 13 years we've been able to weather every storm that life has presented. We've done that by keeping God first and doubling down on our shared purpose, commitment and covenant with each other. We communicate, make decisions, navigate what occurs every single day - together. We hope that this vow renewal helps amplify the power of love, the power of commitment and legacy, and most importantly the power of a Godly union.
