Things To Do

We are so grateful that so many of our favorite people are traveling out to Sacramento to celebrate us! We know for many of you, it will be your first time in California and we really hope you find time to enjoy it. While Sacramento isn't the hottest (well maybe it is temperature wise..) destination in California, it is super easy to get to other fun destinations from here. Here are a few of our favorite places!
The Bay Area

The Bay Area

Delaney grew up a couple of hours away from Sacramento in the lovely Bay Area. From San Francisco cable cars, peaceful (but cold) beach views in Half Moon Bay, and beautiful redwoods, the Bay Area has something for everyone. Redwood City (where Delaney grew up) - Vesta - one of the top 5 restaurants ever (IMHO) - Milagros - Tacos El Grullense (affectionately referred to as "El Greasy," TEG is one of the best places for authentic Mexican food (not that Tex-Mex crap out in the east coast), it has received accolades from the president of Mexico herself) - Coffee Bar Palo Alto - Stanford University (such a beautiful campus!) - Salt & Straw Ice Cream - NOLA San Francisco - Cable Cars - Golden Gate Bridge - Giant's Game - Ghirardelli Square - The Ferry Building - The Presidio (at the end of Golden Gate Park and is a beautiful place for a picnic, it also has a cool Walt Disney Museum!) - Alcatraz - Sightglass Coffee - Salt & Straw Ice Cream

Napa

Napa

Napa speaks for itself as a bucket list destination, but this time of the year will be especially gorgeous. It is where Delaney fell in love with Thomas early in their relationship as he cared for her during an ailing medical episode without hesitation. It holds a very special place in the our love story. Here are a couple of our favorite places: - Stony Hill Winery - where Thomas popped the question. The atmosphere and the wine are both 10/10 - Cliff Lede Vineyards - a must for any classic rock fan, make sure to book the "Backstage Tasting Lounge" experience - Gott's Roadside - truly some of the best burgers you'll ever eat - Yountville - a cute and quaint little town in Napa Valley. It is super walkable and has some great food and coffee options. - The Lavender Inn (Yountville) Napa can be pricey so if you're looking for the Napa Valley experience at a friendlier price point, Sonoma is just 30 minutes down the road and the views and wine are just as good!

Tahoe

Tahoe

If city vibes or wine country aren't your things, a Lake Tahoe mountain retreat is only a two hour drive away. Early in our relationship, we spent a few days in Tahoe and it's where Thomas fell in love with Delaney. We also learned Delaney has an aversion to jet skis. Late September is a bit too early for the world-renowned skiing but there is still a ton to do! - Hike - there are a ton of fantastic hikes in the Tahoe area, we've done Maggies Peak South which is a strenuous 5 mile roundtrip hike - Water sports - the water should still be relatively warm in September! Take the opportunity to jet ski, paddleboard, or kayak - Grab a mountain cabin and cozy up! If you love camping and National Parks, an alternative to Tahoe is Yosemite. It's less than a 3 hour drive from Sacramento
