We got this far all because two people swiped right back in January of 2021, when we matched on Tinder.. right after the Green Bay Packers lost in the NFC championship. Nick messaged first, sending a typical “hello gorgeous”. What really caught my attention was when he took a chance and followed that up with “how bout them packers 🤣🤣”. Which of course I immediately got an attitude about, and simply had to reply to him. Conversation flowed so effortlessly, as if we had known each other forever. We then began spending time together, and made our relationship official on 02/12/2021. He then met my stepdad two days later on Valentine’s Day. I knew then that we would spend the rest of forever together. We have worked through the ups and downs of life as a blended family (he has my amazing bonus boy), and our love only grows stronger each and every day. On 12/26/2023, we went out to dinner with the family and to a Storm Hockey Game as planned. When we arrived at the arena, my cousin (who works there) greeted us by saying “I knew y’all were coming, and I got you guys signed up for the mini game between the first and second period”. My mind was blown! Nick and I had talked about how cool it would be to play the games, and we were finally getting to! I ended up blindfolded on the ice, attempting to bowl a soccer ball into the hockey goal. I took my shot (and made it), but the real surprise was when I took my blindfold off to see the love of my life down on one knee, in front of thousands of people. Nick thought I was going to say no because the first thing out of my mouth was “what the f$&k!?” Because he caught me completely off guard (which I told him he would never do 😅😅). I obviously said yes, and we left the ice- to find even more family and friends present for the engagement!!! It was an absolute dream, and better than anything I could have imagined. He is my best friend, my person, and the love of all of my lifetimes. I cannot wait to officially be Mrs. Thomas 🥰🥰
