Holbox is pronounced "HOLE-bosh."
Please RSVP at your earliest convenience and no later than February 5, 2022 (& wish Kerri a happy birthday!). Please RSVP using this website.
We completely understand that this destination wedding may not work for everyone. Of course we would love to have you with us for this special weekend, but if it doesn't work (whatever the reason) we completely understand! Once you receive your invite please follow the instructions and let us know as soon as possible that you cannot attend.
Yes! Make sure your passport is valid for at least 6 months from the last day of your trip.
We suggest flying in by Thursday, June 2, and flying out Monday, June 6. It takes around 2.5 hours to get to Holblox from the Cancun airport via van shuttle and we don't want you to miss any of the weekend's activities! We will be there from Tuesday, May 31, until Saturday, June 11, and welcome you to join us for as long as you would like.
Yes but it's not reliable. The island itself has its own Wifi, but if it goes out - the whole island is out of service. Plan on embracing the island life and being out of pocket!
Holbox uses Mexican pesos and most places accept US dollars however, you will get the most out of your money if you use pesos. Credit cards are becoming more popular, but not always reliable with spotty wifi. You can exchange money at the Cancun airport OR your hotel. There are also ATMs in the arrival hall of Cancun airport - the exchange rate is usually very good. There are also a few of banks/ATMs on the island however, they notoriously run out of money.
Absolutely, keep in mind though the spotty wifi and be sure to check that the hotel you book allows children under a certain age.
The tap water is not safe to drink in Holbox. Unless by water you mean Modelo. Only drink bottled water that you've purchased from the bodega or bottled water provided by the hotels & restaurants.
We are doing our best to be vigilant and responsible regarding COVID-19. We care deeply about the safety & comfort of all our guests. At the end of March, we will be contacting all guests who RSVPed “yes” with updates on the intended COVID precautions that we will be taking before and during our wedding and any international travel mandates for Mexico and returning to the United States. We strongly encourage all of our friends & family to get vaccinated/boosted.
Beach cocktail. We recommend light colors and breathable fabrics. We used the below article as a guide to our dress code, but please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have specific questions. https://www.brides.com/beach-wedding-attire-4842339
Everywhere in Holbox is dirt/sand roads, so keep this in mind when packing shoes. It's a very casual island, so don't bring the extra luggage for dress shoes! Weather during the day will be in the mid 90s, and falls to upper 70s at night. Your most important items will be a hat, sunblock and bug spray!
