We're getting married!

Our story was not the “love at first sight” type and we didn’t know from the moment we met we'd spend the rest of our lives together. We ran track at St. John Fisher College and had a few mutual friends, some of whom will be standing by our sides in July. For years, we were just friends who went to parties and bars together, teammates, and even gave each other dating advice. Our friendship caught fire in 2015 and we quickly realized we loved a lot of the same things. We spent the summer fishing on the lake, hiking in the Adirondacks, eating watermelon, and drinking gin-lemon-sevens by the bonfire. Ryan left to pursue his PhD in microbiology at the University of Albany that fall and after teaching for two years in Rochester, Meg joined him to teach in the state capital. We got engaged on April 4th, 2018 in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea, on the same beach that Meg grew up vacationing each year. Ryan had an elaborate plan, that included not only asking Meg’s dad months in advance, but also hiring a secret professional photographer to capture the moment. From the look on her face, it's clear Meg had no idea. Ryan even had his parents fly down to Florida so everyone could be there to celebrate. With a lifetime of adventures ahead of them, this is only chapter one of their love story, with each new chapter better than the last. It was certainly not love at first sight, but it’s so much more than that.
