Craig and I met online in the summer of July 2019. I swiped right and didn't look at the app again until days later when our match time was almost up. We messaged for a couple of days before he asked me out on a date. We went on our first date on August 4, 2019. We played mini-golf, had dinner at Applebees, and finished the night with drinks at a local bar. Craig and I dated for a while with lots of ups and downs (even a break-up in between) before he decided to move to Kansas City, MO to pursue a nursing degree in January. We didn't know how long distance was going to work but we knew we had built a solid foundation for our relationship and were ready for this adventure. However, he ended up moving in with me and my roommates due to the pandemic shutting down the school one month later :). After what felt like a few short months later, Craig went back to KC and I finished up school in Branson before moving in with him.
Little did I know this was going to be one of my favorite days ever! We started the day talking about what we wanted in our cute little apartment we were getting the keys to that night, and when we were going to pick up our furniture. He went to work per usual that morning, so I started to pack the essentials we would need for the night, including my Christmas tree which was not in its box. I asked him where it was and he told me he had let a friend borrow it for a party. Super annoyed and disappointed that my tree was not going up in my new apartment, I continued to pack until he got home. We got in the car, drove to the store and found out my car was too small for the furniture we were picking up. Once again disappointed, Craig suggested we just go get our keys to the apartment, unpack some things and call it a night. We drove to the apartment, got our keys, and headed up when I saw that he was acting a little weird and nervous, but didn't know why. As we headed in, I open the door to see "Will you marry me" written with balloons on the wall, my Christmas tree lit up and decorated, and the living room decorated with candles and roses! He had also hired a photographer to capture this beautiful moment as he gets down on one knee. Of course, he didn't have to say anything as I was already crying and wrapping my arms around him!
