Freak Alley Gallery is the northwest's largest open-air, multi-artist mural gallery, located between 8th and 9th street and Bannock and Idaho in Downtown Boise.

Boise River Greenbelt

The Boise River Greenbelt is one of Boise's most beloved parks. The 25-mile tree-lined pathway follows the north and south sides of the Boise River through the heart of the city and provides scenic views, wildlife habitat and pedestrian access to many of Boise’s popular riverside parks.

Basque Museum and Cultural Center

The Basque Museum & Cultural Center provides a look into the heritage of the Basque communities of Idaho and surrounding areas. The Basque Museum and Cultural Center was established in 1985 as a small museum in the historic Cyrus Jacobs-Uberuaga House on Grove Street. Through hard work and the support of many individuals, businesses, foundations, and Basque communities, the Museum began to interpret the rich and colorful history of the Basques, their origins, and their new life in America.

Boise Depot

The Boise Depot is a beautiful historic Spanish-style structure operated by the Boise Parks and Recreation Department as a public ceremonial or meeting space and historic site, and is home to the famous Platt Gardens. Designed by New York architects, the building opened in 1925 to elaborate fanfare in the capital city.

Old Idaho Penitentiary

Built in 1870, the Old Idaho Penitentiary is one of only four territorial prisons open to the public today. During its 101 years of operation, the site saw escapes, scandals and the effects of Boise’s transition from the “wild west” to a mid-20th century capital city. Step inside the four walls of the prison yard and imagine a life of confinement as steel doors close behind you. Guided Tours are available most days for an additional $2 fee.

Table Rock

Table Rock in Boise, Idaho, is a popular 3.7-mile loop trail known for its flat-top summit and iconic cross, offering stunning views of the city. The trail (starting at the Old Idaho Penitentiary) is frequently used by hikers, dog walkers, and horse riders. The summit, located in the Boise foothills, is a geological formation created by volcanic activity about 15 million years ago

The World Center for Birds of Prey in Boise, Idaho, is the headquarters for The Peregrine Fund, an international non-profit organization founded in 1970 that conserves endangered raptors around the world.

Bruneau Sand Dunes

Bruneau Dunes park boasts the tallest single-structured sand dune in North America with a peak rising 470 feet above the surrounding desert floor. Explore the dunes in your hiking boots or rent a sandboard from the Visitor Center. You can also fish for bluegill in the lakes at the foot of the dune; unlock the mystery of the desert with a breathtaking hike or horseback ride; plan a group picnic or visit the Bruneau Dunes Observatory and gaze at the night sky through the Observatory’s collection of telescopes.
