How We Met

June 16th, 2018

I guess blind dates really do work out. It was my best friend Jojo's birthday and I (Meghan) was throwing her a "surprise" birthday party. I say "surprise" because it wasn't really a surprise at all, I needed to know who to invite and so I had to tell her to "act surprised". She and her boyfriend Tom had told me about one of his friends they had wanted me to meet. I was hesitant at first after being shown a few blurry pictures of him from college, but I agreed to them inviting him to come to the party. Cut to the party, Tom and Zachary were the very first people to arrive, I opened the door with a head of half curled hair and boy did I have no idea what I was opening the door to. My jaw dropped to the door when I saw Zachary and I knew I was in trouble. We flirted the night away, played cards against humanity (I beat him, of course) and drank a few too many drinks to calm our nerves. But that was it, from that moment forward it was the end of our single life as we knew it. We spent every weekend together and 8 short months later, we took a leap of faith and moved across the country together. A little over two years after that we embarked on a 3 week long road trip traveling to our new home in Washington which included an engagement, few shower, and lots of unforgettable moments. Now we find ourselves living in Washington with two dogs and a baby on the way all because of a blind set up. Thanks Jojo and Tommy!
