After 10 years of vaguely knowing each other through their Percy Jackson fan Instagram accounts, Seb thought he saw Meghan in Manhattan and DMed her asking for a coffee date. She was in Brooklyn but agreed to go hoping it could be the start of something. Unfortunately, the coffee date did not go well. Fortunately, they were already scheduled to go on a Percy Jackson group photo shoot on Long Island that summer. After a haircut, a trip on the LIRR, and an evening spent in the rain and under the stars, Meghan fell. Hard. Seb still needed a night spent on the floor of her room, a weekend showing Swiss tourists around the city, and a Spanish lesson to be convinced, but he made it eventually. While Meghan was calling everyone she knew telling them she met her husband, Seb was working up the courage to ask her on a date. Once he did (watching the Perseid meteor shower in New York City), the rest was history. They've spent their time writing (and reading) poems, antiquing for their home and their wedding, day trips upstate to hike or shop, long days in the Greco-roman gallery at the Met, building legos, fixing cameras, shooting on film, packing picnics for central park that get rained out, passing annotated copies of Vonnegut or John Green back and forth, and eating far too much sourdough.
