Meghan and Riad have built their love over many places and spaces. When they were teenagers in New Jersey, Riad and Meghan circled around one another in friend groups and small local shows. As they grew older, they found each other again at William Paterson University, working in the Writing Center. After Riad casually invited Meghan to "Big Jim's business lunch" (which Meghan read as a personal getting to know you lunch date), it became clear as she found a table full of activists arguing over a tuition strike that they would circle around each other just a little bit longer. After graduating, moving to South America, and eventually returning home, Riad came searching: Where was he going to work? How could he come back to the US after being away for so long? How would he manage to rebuild friendships? Meghan, meanwhile, was finishing her degree in English at William Paterson. She was also searching: What does life look like in the "real world"? How does she take her next steps? Their relationship formed in the depths of these questions on December 21st, 2012, the day the Mayans predicted the world would end and a new one would begin. One month later, they took a chance that many thought was crazy and decided to move to London together. Since then, their love was built, piece by piece, with the collections of their worldly memories.
