RD: This story began on a December night at a dinner with friends. I was asked when I would trade my bachelor life devoted to road biking for a real girlfriend. My friend, Gabriel Sabado, said he had a friend - Meghan. He gave me her number, I gave her a call, and we decided to go on a date. Meghan: I was not pumped for my first date with RD. All I knew about him was that he had spent some time in seminary and had run a Spartan Race with my friend Gabe. I was running a little behind schedule (per usual) but he was running a little ahead of schedule (also per usual). When he showed up I could tell he wasn’t a man of many words but I could also tell he thought I was pretty cute. RD: She’s right. I thought she was very pretty and from that point on we continued to go on dates and find adventures together. Meghan has a beautiful soul that lights up any room she walks into. She is goofy, a woman of prayer, and wants to love everyone with a joy-filled spirit: family, friend, or stranger. I knew I wanted to be in a devoted relationship with her. Meghan: RD took me on great dates, spent time with my friends, and was always clear with his intentions. He is genuine, courageous, and hard working. He quickly earned my respect and admiration. By the middle of June we started to talk about the possibility of marriage and after a few more months RD popped the big question “can I get a new bike?” RD: Just kidding. I really did ask that question, but I knew there was a more important question to ask. Meghan and I flew back to Minneapolis to visit her family. Life got crazy and I had to improvise. On Saturday October 16th we found ourselves in the Marian Chapel at the Cathedral of St. Paul. As in so many other moments in our relationship Mary was there in prayer and guidance. It was here that I asked for Meghan's hand in marriage. We ask for your prayers as we prepare for marriage. Be assured of our prayers - we cannot wait to celebrate our beautiful day with all of you!
