Cultural Tips for Visiting Greece Tipping Tipping isn’t required, but it’s appreciated. Rounding up or leaving 5–10% in euros is a kind gesture at restaurants and cafés. Beach Culture Beach chairs are first come, first served. Simply order a coffee or drink from the beach bar as a courtesy to use them. Dining Etiquette Most restaurants are casual — if a table is clean, go ahead and sit! Meals are enjoyed slowly, and service may be relaxed. Dinner typically starts later, around 8–9 PM. Local Rhythms Shops may close midday (2–5 PM) for rest. Plan accordingly! Water Tap water is safe, but bottled water is usually served at restaurants. Language Most people speak at least some English, especially in restaurants and shops. Still, a few Greek words go a long way: Efharistó = Thank you Yassas = Hello Parakaló = Please / You’re welcome Suggested Packing List (see travel section)
Question

What is the closest airport?

Answer

The Athens International Airport will be where you fly into! From there it is recommended to get a car service to drive you to Nafpaktos. Renting a car is another option, however it should be noted that Nafpaktos does have tight parking!

Question

Will transportation be provided for the wedding?

Answer

We are planning to have shuttles operating for the wedding. More details will be provided on this as we finish our planning!

Question

What is the dress code for each event?

Answer

For the ceremony/reception the attire will be summer formal! Men can were suits, tuxedos, or linen suits! Women can wear light colors! For the Welcome dinner, we will be having a white party! Nothing too formal - just dress as you would for a nice dinner :)
