Matt and Meghan met through mutual friends at Shenandoah University in 2014-2015. They would attend weekly Saturday night dinners at Piccadilly’s with friends, Meghan’s sophomore year and Matt’s freshman year. They became very close friends over the years, and at one point they almost dated; however, they prioritized their friendship over anything. After years of patience, persistence, and being in the friend-zone, Matthew asked Meghan to be his date to a mutual friend's wedding. Meghan was very apprehensive about dating Matt because she didn't want to risk losing Matt's friendship. However, after much convincing, Matt asked Meghan, "Don’t you wanna end up with your best friend?" They’ve been inseparable ever since. They have been together through the many ups and downs including: the challenges of PT school, studying for education praxis tests, studying for state boards, long distance... and through it all they have been each other's rock! After a year and a half of long-distance, Meghan and Matt moved into their new home in Frederick, MD.

If Meghan were to describe the proposal in one word she would say BEAUTIFUL... now if Matt were to describe the day he would call it a TRAINWRECK! Meg and Matt were celebrating and relaxing with her parents at the beach house in Fenwick Island, DE after she passed her Boards exam. What a better way to relax than to watch movies on a rainy beach day... welp, Matt felt differently as he continued to stare out the window (all day) waiting for the rain to pass. PLOT TWIST.... it didn't end. Matt went with Meghan’s dad to pick up dinner and surprised Meghan with bringing Emily and Austin (her best friends) home with pizza in hand. Meghan thought they came to the beach to celebrate her passing Boards, but they had other plans. Later that night, Matt asked Meghan to go for a walk in the morning on the beach with Emily and Austin. And from that point on, she was skeptical. That morning, Meghan woke up to Emily and Austin gone and her parents dressed and ready to go with NO COFFEE made. If you know anything about Meghan’s parents you know that the mornings at the beach house is a sacred time filled with quiet reading and drinking coffee on the porch. Meanwhile, Matt is running to his car and returns with a square in his pocket. At that point she texted Emily saying “I’m skeptical, you’re up to something!” Upon arriving at the beach, they found Austin and a very pregnant Emily with a camera around her neck. Meghan grabbed Matt’s arm saying “you’re up to something” to find him crying. They walked arm and arm down to a beautiful scene on the beach where Matt asked Meghan to spend forever with him and of course, she said "YES!"
