Having both grown up in Lancaster, Matt and Meghan have known each other for nearly their whole lives. Beginning in preschool and up to high school they walked the same halls and while Meghan was drawing hearts around Matt in her elementary school yearbooks it took Matt until Senior Prom to finally build up the courage to ask her out. The interest grew as they split off to attend colleges hundreds of miles apart but would still keep in touch over the summers and holiday breaks. Finally after a New Year’s party in 2016 and an awkward pizza date (they both used forks and knives?) they made a serious effort to get together that upcoming summer. Summer came around and the romance grew through kayaking trips in Lancaster and Saturday morning dates to Central Market. However, things weren’t official until Matt came back from his Ohio State orientation and informed Meghan that he told his new roommates that he had a girlfriend and proceeded to check that it was okay with her. It was! Splitting off to go to college in Alabama and Ohio they made it a point to see one another for fall football games and formals at each of their schools over the next few years and embracing their time together in Lancaster during the holiday breaks. Following graduation, Meghan made the move to Philadelphia with her best high school friends while Matt secured a job in South Jersey eventually taking a role at the Jersey Shore and moved to Asbury Park. Three years of manageable distance apart with trips to Philly in the winter and the shore in the summer led to Meghan ditching the city life to join Matt on the beach. A year after living together Matt popped the question surrounded by their family on the beach on 07/07/2023!
