From Lab Partners to Life Partners

Meghan and Manny first met during graduate school at the University of California in Santa Barbara the summer of 2016 when Manny finally showed up a year after Meghan. What started off as a good friendship spent hanging out at countless late night beach bonfires and dance parties on State Street, ended up being so much more. After bonding over their obsession with the critically acclaimed hit song “Despacito” by Daddy Yankee and Luis Fonsi (NEVER the Bieber version), Manny finally mustered up the courage to ask Meghan out and make it official on August 30, 2018 over dinner (another obsession of theirs) on their first date at Zaytoon’s, but not before Manny finally got Meghan to watch Jurassic Park (because how does someone at the age of 25 admit they’ve never seen them?!). From that point forward, they’ve shared many adventures together ranging from staying at home during quarantine where Manny finally got Meghan to watch (and love) “The Office” to wine tastings and enjoying each other’s company as they’ve traveled together across the country. With their goal to visit each state and territory in the US, their progress is well on its way. Upon graduating from UCSB, they both started their professional careers working in the chemical industry. Although they are both satisfied with their careers, they’ve had to do so while in a long-distance relationship. With Manny in a rotational program, his requirement to move to a different state every 8 months has been challenging. They’ve always made it a priority to spend as much time together as possible between alternating monthly visits and daily FaceTime calls. With Manny’s rotational requirements coming to an end, the stars are finally beginning to align for these two love birds to finally start their lives together. Manny proposed to Meghan during their trip to Puerto Rico on May 31, 2022. After a morning of adventurous horseback riding, Manny had a relaxing afternoon all planned out. He planned a picnic date to watch the sunset while enjoying a glass of wine by the lighthouse in Cabo Rojo. Manny then invited Meghan over to the cliffside to take some pictures to remember the trip by, but when she turned around to face the sunset over the ocean, he got down on one knee. With a photographer hidden nearby to capture the moment, she turned to face him and well… the rest is history! We’re so excited to celebrate with you at our wedding in September!
