We love going on picnics here! There's lots of good food and some cute shops around!!
Nickajack Lake
The lake (a part of the Tennessee River) is the biggest landmark in Chattanooga. It's beautiful - swimmer, boat, kayak, tubing, water skiing, and water sport friendly. We love spending time in the river...it's the best place to cool off in July!
Rock City
Rock City is a beautiful attraction on top of Lookout Mountain (where King grew up)! It is fairytale themed and has a famous view - one that claims that you will be able to see 7 states from its vista!
Chattanooga Aquarium
This is one of the most recognizable landmarks in Chattanooga! It's the world's largest freshwater aquarium and is seriously cool! This would be a great spot for sea-life lovers and kids!
Ruby Falls
This is a super cool collection of underground caves and a waterfall! Fun fact - Hilda worked here as a teenager!
Lookout Mountain Incline Railway
The Lookout Mountain Incline is a super steep (and somewhat slow) train-ride up to King's hometown of Lookout Mountain, TN! If you ride up, you arrive near another cool, historic spot - Point Park!
Nashville
For the more adventurous - if you're coming for a while, Nashville is a 2 hour drive from Chattanooga and is a fun, lively city to visit. If you're lucky, you may just see a country star!
Atlanta
If you're really looking to explore the South, Atlanta is only 2 hours away and has lots of tourist attractions!
Ocoee Rafting
For the thrill seekers - the Ocoee River is one of the best white-water rafting rivers in the nation! We have gone on a rafting trip here and LOVED it! Super fun for thrill seekers, families, and outdoorsy people! You could do this in a half-day trip.

This is King's favorite restaurant in Chattanooga! Meghan, California born-and-raised, even approves! It's got lots of yummy rolls and a great ambiance!

Chattanooga Choo Choo
We love this spot! It's historic, super cool, and has restaurants, coffee shops, cycling studios, and Escape Rooms! It was the inspiration for the 1950's hit song - "Chattanooga Choo Choo."
