In true 21st-century, emerging-from-Covid fashion, Kevin and I found each other on a dating app. That’s what it took to finally bridge the mere two-mile gap that had separated us for years on L.B.I.! So, on a scorching summer morning, we had our first date at Surf City hotspot How You Brewin’. Though Kevin still jokes that he’s never been there, the date clearly made an impression on both of us, as we were eager to say yes to a second…and third and fourth and so on :)

With the perfect ring acquired, I was almost ready to get down on one knee and propose to Meghan. Upon realizing I'd never fit a ring box anywhere on my person sneakily, I fashioned a smaller, flatter one out of two pretty scallop shells - now I was ready. Logistics weren't too tricky, we just needed a beautiful day at the beach. On Saturday, October 19th, 2024, that day arrived. We had plans to go walk around the lighthouse, which is one of our favorite destinations on LBI. I suggested we go down a less-traveled, sandy path through the “jungle” there, and with the Sun shining, a gorgeous view of the Barnegat Inlet, and the coast clear, I popped the question! She said yes (duh!), I put the ring on her finger, and we got to enjoy the park as our first act - engaged!

As summer transitions to fall, we’re excited to enter into a new season of life as a married couple. We chose Aldie Mansion as the backdrop for our big day because it perfectly blends each of our styles: Kevin’s love of castles and my love of lush gardens.
