Jack and Meghan first met in 7th grade when their elementary schools merged and they found themselves sitting near each other in math class. Over the years, they remained friendly, but it wasn’t until senior year of high school that Meghan started to realize just how cute Jack was. As basketball season kicked off that year, they began talking more. Halfway through the season, Meghan proposed a fun bet: after each game, they’d compare who scored more points. At the end of the season, whoever lost would take the winner out to dinner. (Spoiler: Meghan won.) That dinner turned into their first official date—and the start of something pretty amazing. Over the next seven years, their relationship weathered long-distance stretches through college and early careers, with plenty of memorable trips in between—just the two of them and with both of their families. One of their favorite adventures was visiting Ireland together with both families, a trip full of scenic views, pints of Guinness and lots of memories. In February 2023, they made Boston their home. Jack works as an mechanical engineer at CDM Smith, and Meghan is a nurse at Massachusetts General Hospital. Together, they’ve loved exploring everything the city has to offer—from incredible food and cozy bars to quick getaways to the beach or the mountains. Then, in February 2025, Jack planned what Meghan thought was just a belated Valentine’s Day dinner. As they walked home through the Boston Public Garden, Jack got down on one knee and popped the question. Meghan said yes without hesitation. Now they can’t wait to celebrate with all the friends and family who’ve been part of their story so far. Let the countdown to "I do!" begin!
