Meghan and Colby got set up on a blind date by 2 of their best friends, Renae and Jacob (they are now married!!). Meghan was in need of a last minute formal date and asked Renae for her help. Renae quickly got to work texting Jacob about the situation. Jacob put Meghan's picture in his fraternity groupchat (SO romantic) and Colby volunteered to take the desperate girl. After Renae's approval of the choice, she told Meghan that Colby would be a fun formal date and she thought they would get along really well but, "not to expect too much from Colby". Meghan made Colby text her first (even though she was the one asking him to her event; playing hard to get). Some (Meghan) would say Colby was nervous because he accidentally only brought a pint of gin to the pregame. Despite this, Colby clearly did something right because that night was the first time either of them had fun at a sorority formal and they clicked instantly.

Meghan almost completely ruined the proposal surprise by going to a concert out of state. Colby had planned on all of their friends coming in from out of town to surprise her at the lake and he had to convince her not to go. Once he showed his hand, Meghan got suspicious it was going to happen. Fast forward, Hurricane Ian came through North Carolina and all of the friends told Meghan they wouldn't be able to make it to the lake. That morning, Colby took Meghan out to eat while family and friends set up the house for the engagement. When they got back, Colby took Meghan around the back of the lake house and got down on one knee to ask her to marry him.
