Kalvin Kunda is a longtime friend of both the bride (and MSU college friend), and the groom (a best friend from early childhood). Meghan was starting her final semester at Montana State in the fall of 2018, and Kalvin decided she ought to have some fun during Labor Day weekend. Kalvin's girlfriend at the time and Meghan had been 4-H camp counselors back in the day and got along well. So, under the ploy of "you two get along well, and we will feed you for a weekend if you bring your own drinks... oh and some of my friends from high school will be there. They're nice guys" she agreed to go to the Kunda Kabin. Part of the group decided to four-wheeler up to Blue Lake on a trail only passable by ATV or a Jeep. Meghan wanted to ask Brycen to ride with him, got nervous and didn't. As fate would have it, she was riding with Billy Miller (Brycen's great friend and roommate) and he got a flat tire and she got to ride with Brycen. Little did he know that letting her drive and giving mediocre instructions would land them on their sides with a four-wheeler pinning them to the ground. Luckily, Brycen got an arm down in time that it did not completely roll, and they came out with only minor scrapes and bruises. On the way down the mountain Meghan got brave, asked about his family, hobbies, and gave him the disclaimer that she liked him and warned of a move to Kansas for her Masters. He said, "challenge accepted", and the rest is history.
