How We Met

Adam and Meg both went to Saint Mary's University of Minnesota for their undergraduate degrees and met briefly before Meg transferred to Marquette University. They remained friends on Facebook but never chatted until 14 years later when Adam messaged Meg. They chatted on Facebook Messenger for a while, reconnecting. Adam mentioned that he was going camping in Minnesota at one point in August of 2018 and asked if Meg wanted to join. Meg replied that camping sounded great - but, how about in Colorado? Shortly thereafter, Adam flew to Colorado and they saw each other for the first time in 14 years and went camping in Rocky Mountain National Park. When their trip was over, and they were on their way back to Denver International Airport, they decided they wanted to try to continue dating even though it would be long distance. They knew there was something special about their connection.

The Proposal

Meg was able to get her third Doctor of Physical Therapy clinical rotation to be located in Riverside, IL - just a few miles from Adam's home in Brookfield, IL. So she moved from Colorado to Illinois to live with Adam for 12 weeks. Over this time their relationship continued to grow. Whether it was making dinner, running, going to a show, spending time with family, hiking or camping - any adventure was better together. One of the things they loved was having coffee together in a cozy nook of Adam's home. One morning while chatting about the upcoming holidays, Adam got down on one knee, pulled a ring from his pocket, and asked Meg to marry him. She started crying and immediately said "Yes!"

The Pandemic Wedding

For a long time, we held out hope that we would be able to have the wedding that we planned. Complete with all of our friends and family. But with the pandemic in full swing, that just could not happen. So we adjusted, and replanned, a few times. On July 11, 2020 our immediate families joined us as we said 'I do.' And it was so imperfectly, perfect.
