We actually met in the height of the pandemic! After lots of persuasion from friends to give online dating a try, Meghan decided to give it a go. Meanwhile, TJ had just been furloughed from his job in Atlanta and was recently back living in south Florida. Within just a few weeks of being home in the sunshine state, TJ and Meghan connected online and the rest is history! Meeting during the pandemic, life was forced to slow down which allowed us to spend so much of our time together enjoying the simple things - walking the beach, cooking together, and driving around town just talking. In a time when nothing felt easy, it was the pandemic that brought us together. We never took for granted how easy our connection was and how right it felt during such a chaotic time.

Well, TJ sure can pull off a surprise. We had a trip planned to NJ/NY to visit with family and friends - a trip planned with a jam packed itinerary - no time for a proposal or anything, right? We took an early flight out of Atlanta to NY (… almost missed our flight, ran through the airport Home Alone style), picked up our rental car and we were off to Long Island to visit with some good friends for the day… or so Meghan thought. TJ had other plans… After brunch and some shopping, TJ surprised Meghan with a check-in at Oheka Castle (!!!). Within minutes of checking in, Meg was immediately pulled away into a massage. TJ secretly used this time to scope out the castle for the perfect spot to propose. We later had dinner overlooking the beautiful grounds, where it truly could not have been a more picturesque night. After dinner and a walk through the peaceful Gatsby-like gardens, we decided to make our way back towards the castle. We had yet to come across anyone to take a photo of us until we were just outside the entrance. TJ stopped and asked a couple taking photos if they would mind taking a few for us… “make it a video” was what TJ whispered as he handed them his camera. TJ proposed, Meghan said yes, and here we are! We are so excited to celebrate with you all!
