Things To Do

New York has a million things to do, of course, but we've hand picked a few of our favorite activities that you might enjoy while you're here! We'll keep adding things as we think of them - ask us about anything you'd like to see or do while you're here!
Brooklyn Bridge Park - Pier 1

Brooklyn Bridge Park - Pier 1

2 Furman Street, Brooklyn Heights, NY 11201

There are so many great things along Brooklyn Bridge Park. Starting at Pier 1, there's Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory, Grimaldi's Pizza, Shake Shack, The River Cafe, and The Buzz Bar (an outdoor bar on the water - Megan's favorite). You can head south and enjoy the city skyline, then further south there are athletic fields (described next). This is also where the Ferry lives - you can buy a ticket for $2.75 and travel all the way up to 34th street in Manhattan (with a few stops in Brooklyn) or south, to Wall street/south street seaport. They serve beer & wine on the ferries, and just riding it up and down the river is one of Megan's favorite things to do.

Jane's Carousel

Old Dock Street, Dumbo, NY 11201
, (718) 222-2502

This is along Brooklyn Bridge Park - an easy walk from Randolph. It's right on the water and tons of fun for kids (and adults!)

Brooklyn Bridge Park Pier 5

334 Furman Street, Brooklyn Heights, NY 11201
, (718) 222-9939

Further south down BBPark there are sports fields, parks, playgrounds, outdoor seating, an Ample Hills ice cream stand, and a few restaurants. There's even a restaurant on a boat!

Smith Street

Smith Street

Smith Street, Brooklyn, NY 11201

If you want to see a bit of Brooklyn, walk down Smith street. There are tons of stores, restaurants, & bars down this street and it's on the F train if you need to get back to Randolph or your hotel.

DUMBO Boulders

99 Plymouth Street, Dumbo, NY 11201
, (718) 489-8363

There's a little rock climbing spot under the Manhattan bridge - you can get a day pass for $7, and rent whatever equipment you need. It's a wire-free rock climbing facility, but the walls aren't high. If you're looking for some SERIOUS rock climbing, check out Brooklyn Boulders in Gowanus https://brooklynboulders.com/gowanus/ - a day pass is $32

Manhattan Bridge

Manhattan Bridge, New York, NY 11201

I so much prefer to walk over the Manhattan Bridge because it is FAR less populated than the Brooklyn (which is full of tourists at all times of day, but is still lovely). The staircase to the Manhattan bridge is right by Randolph and will take you into Chinatown. The LES is just a short walk north of there, if you're looking to explore the city.

Caffe e Vino

112 Dekalb Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11201
, (718) 855-6222

Hands down our favorite Italian spot. Authentic cuisine, fantastic staff. It's where we head for our special occasions.

Putnam's Pub & Cooker

Putnam's Pub & Cooker

419 Myrtle Avenue, Clinton Hill, NY 11205
, (347) 799-2382

Our go-to restaurant when we're in the hood. Real good food, fantastic atmosphere. TVs for sports fans, and a good sized bar.

Cardiff Giant

415 Myrtle Avenue, Clinton Hill, NY 11205
, (929) 337-7873

Our local. Serves only NY state products, down to the soda & bitters. Tell the bartenders you know us ;)

Kings County Brewers Collective

381 Troutman Street, Bushwick, NY 11237
, (929) 234-6557

Voted New York's Best Brewery. Our boy Pete makes the amazing beer and their tasting room is one of the best you'll see. It's a bit further out, but absolutely worth the trip! https://www.thrillist.com/drink/new-york/kings-county-brewers-collective-kcbc-best-brewery-nyc

For all the days along the way
