Once you land, you will proceed to immigration first. This can take anywhere from 5 min to an hour depending on the amount of people landing at the same time. Be prepared to stand in line (pee before you get in line/bring bottled water) because you can’t get out of line without going to the back of the line. Once it is your turn, you will approach the counter with your family group. 1. You will need your passport(s) and boarding pass (electronic is OK). 2. After immigration, you will move to the baggage claim to get your luggage (if you checked bags) and then head to customs. 3. You will follow everyone else walking to the exit and people are just randomly selected to go to the area where they inspect your bags. FYI: You are not allowed to bring foods, fruits or products into the country unless they are “commercially” packed and sealed or for a special diet or medical purpose. 4. Once through customs area, proceed to the exit. Head straight to the outdoors. DO NOT stop and talk or make eye contact with anyone until you get outside – they are trying to sell you cars, excursions, time shares, etc. and they are relentless. JUST KEEP MOVING UNTIL YOU ARE OUTSIDE!! DON’T ASK ANYONE ABOUT YOUR TRANSPORTATION. JUST GET OUTSIDE! Timeshare staff are inside the terminal building. They may get close to you asking to see your travel documents, saying they are your local representative. Do not pay attention to them.
If you booked through our Travel Agent, you should have a confirmation email from Seasons Tours Traffic (trafico@seasonstours.com or transfers@seasonstours.com). This email will include detailed instructions for finding your private transfer upon exiting the airport. HAVE YOUR CONFIRMATION EMAIL WITH YOU!
You will be at the resort in approximately 20-40 minutes depending on traffic. When you are a few minutes from the resort you will take a U Turn and arrive at a small side street. It's small enough, that sometimes you may need wait for another car to drive out. As you drive down the street you will see the front gates of the resort.
Drivers will pull up to the resort gates and ask for the name on your reservation. A gate attendant will verify your reservation and grant access to the resort. They will ask you for your name and/or room number every time you enter or exit the resort for the duration of your stay (should you choose to leave the resort). You will be greeted by hotel staff, they will take your luggage and ask for your reservation name to mark your bags. They will take your luggage off to the side and show you the way to the lobby. FYI: If you are arriving before 3pm, they will likely KEEP your luggage and deliver it to your room when it is ready. If you are arriving before 3pm make sure to grab your swimsuit/hat/coverup out of your suitcase so you can hop in the pool while you wait for your room to be ready* Also, keep your passport on you, you will need it for check in.
The resort may put a “hold” for $600 on your credit card when you check in. Like other hotels, this is for incidentals while you are at the resort. Just be aware. It will be removed when you check out. I believe you can provide a different card for this when you check in if you want.
Be sure to download the resort's phone app. This will help you know what is going on during your stay. The app includes menus, hours, and dress for restaurants. First and foremost, tipping is *not* required at the Excellence Riviera Cancun. Everyone should do what they are most comfortable with – the staff are amazing and you will have good service regardless. But here are some general guidelines for tipping if you choose to do so. 1. You can tip in pesos or USD. 2. If you want to tip in USD, bring lots of 1s and 5s. You can only get smaller bills if a bartender or server is willing to break a $20 for you. You can easily exchange USD for pesos at the front desk if you do not want to travel with a stack of small bills. Here are some good articles to help you figure out what you might want to tip. https://www.amatravel.ca/articles/simple-guide-to-tipping-at-all-inclusive-resorts https://www.uponarriving.com/tip-all-inclusive-resorts/ https://cancunareatravel.com/how-much-should-you-tip-at-a-cancun-all-inclusive/
During the ceremony, no. During the cocktail hour and reception, yes! We would love for you to take photos!
#gettingmurrayd
Attire: Semi-formal beach attire. Think cocktail but cool and comfortable, the ceremony is on the beach. Woman: Tea or ankle-length dress with straps or short sleeves or a suit/jumpsuit, if you prefer. For shoes, avoid sinking in the sand and opt for dressy sandals, wedges or shoes with a flat sole or chunky heel. Men: Slacks and a crisp button-down shirt. Blazer or sport coat optional. For shoes, wear close-toed dress shoes, deck shoe or loafers.
Stiletto heels are not recommended. We are getting married on the beach and you might sink in with stiletto or traditional heels. A chunky heel/wedge, flats, or formal beach sandals would be best. If you're going dress shoes, we recommend wearing dress shoes, deck shoes, or loafers.
All wedding events will be outdoors, but the reception will be in a covered location.
In February, Cancun can average 68-82 F or 20-28 C. It can feel colder in the evenings.
