Megan's friends at WSU said "hey you're tall and weird and we know this guy who is tall and weird, you should meet." They brought Mike up to Megan's floor to study and that's when we first met.
After making CDs for each other before departing for the summer between our freshman and sophomore year, we began hanging out frequently at A-Chi-O events and Mongo House. One night after hanging out we "made it official."
After graduating from WSU, we both moved to the west side of the state. Mike to Seattle for work and Megan to Bremerton for student teaching. After almost a year Megan moved to Seattle and a few years after that Mike and Megan moved in together.
After a few years and quarantine in a one bedroom apartment, we made the move to purchase a house. We purchased a town house in Lake City and love having a place of our own!
Megan has always lived with pets and was desperate for one since graduating from college, Mike's feelings towards pets were "I don't want hair everywhere." A compromise was to get a hairless cat. Hairless cats look like Lord Voldemort and thus we named him Marv, for Tom Marvolo Riddle.
Every year Megan and Mike go to Priest Lake for the Fourth of July with Megan's family. Mike made plans to propose during this trip and then Megan got COVID-19 and they were not able to go on the trip. Luckily, they were able to do a make up trip a week and a half later. Megan asked Mike to go paddle boarding and while out on the boards, Mike asked Megan to marry him. She said yes and they paddled back to the cabin where everyone already knew what was going on. They celebrated with napkins with the wrong date and people they love.
