In Spring 2024, I moved to Chicago and joined several activities, which included CrossFit, Run Club, and Soccer. The latter of the sports knocked me into the love of my life, Octavio. When I first saw him as we passed the ball as a team, I knew he was something special and worth pursuing. His smile, his kind demeanor, and his humility were the first set of attributes that stuck out to me. The next month consisted of slyly nudging to him that I was interested and patiently waiting for him to make the move. Thankfully a book on feminism and tacos started our everyday together. Since August 2024, we have spent each day grateful that God united us together on a soccer field and eager to see where we are headed next as a future married couple!

It was the summer of 2024..... Megan signed up to join a soccer league as a free agent and I was coming back to playing soccer after years of letting my soccer cleats collect dust. I was commited to loving life and really investing in myself. It just so happened that the love of my life was also on the same journey and sent me some very generous nudges that we might want to consider doing that together! Our shared love for sports, self-improvement, and love for people of all walks of life and backgrounds was more than enough for me to take those hints and go after what would be one of the most amazing decisions of my life. From laughs and soft smiles exchanged on the pitch, to sneaking in full orders of takeout food to a movie theater, we could not be happier with where we are now. I have spent the last almost 6 months relishing the days we have spent together and dreaming of the future. Now we get to share our love with all of our new big(ger) family on our special day!
