Once upon a time an art student named Leah invited two of her freshman pals to join her on a camping trip with other students from Nazareth College. Megan jumped at the chance to spend some time in nature, and when the school van pulled up outside Dan's dorm, she first laid eyes on a gap-toothed grin coming from a boy wearing a goofy hat and insulated flannel. He cracked everyone up the whole trip, and after a weekend of s'mores and tent camping, Danny, Megan & Leah started spending a lot more time together. Whether it was sitting three-across on the front bench seat of his Chevy Lumina on the way to a concert, or going to art shows and First Friday events, or finding hidden spots in the woods on campus to hang out, it was always good, clean art and music student fun. After three years of friendship, many boyfriends for Megan, and finding more common ground after both studying abroad in Italy, Danny finally asked Megan out to dinner. Both bothered their roommates for the days leading up to it, agonizing over whether it was a date, or just friends going out to eat. It became apparent that it was a date when he picked her up, both a little dressed up. At a sweet Italian restaurant, Megan put her hand on the table to emphasize a story she was telling and Dan put his on top of hers... sparks flew, and the rest is history. Despite Megan begging Dan to keep it on the down low, in a week's time he was telling everyone he saw that they were an item. The last 12 years have been filled with life milestones- college graduation, surviving a long-distance relationship, moving in together in Philadelphia, grad school and more graduations, surviving the move back home, moving in together again in Rochester, becoming cat parents, traveling, having all the jobs and all the student loans, and first pandemic.
