Jon and Megan met playing in the BU Catholic Center's praise & worship band in their sophomore year of college. After spending a lot of time together in groups the following summer, they became even better friends their junior year. The two began to spend more time together one-on-one, watching movies and eating too much frozen yogurt, and Jon developed a crush. He asked Megan out on a date 3 months later, but unfortunately, she did not return the feelings and turned him down. With his winning heart, Jon put his friendship with Megan over his hurt feelings, and their friendship continued to grow. When Jon spent his senior fall semester abroad in Australia, Megan realized how much she missed his friendship. She and Jon texted each other often while he was gone, supporting each other in rough patches and continuing to foster a connection. When Jon returned, Megan realized that she now had feelings for Jon but worried it might be too late. Thankfully, Jon's feelings had returned, and when Megan finally told him she had changed her mind, he was eager to accept her with open arms. The two became a couple on March 18th, 2016 and have enjoyed a relationship that thrives on the important friendship they built prior to dating. Through prayer, Megan and Jon welcomed God into their relationship and followed His call as He led them along the path to discerning marriage.
