Some years ago Meg and John met at a party of mutual friends in Ann Arbor, Michigan. They didn't know it then, but this encounter would be the beginning of an on-again, off-again relationship that culminated in a reunion some 7 years later. They were never exactly star-crossed, though the twists and turns of their twenties often made it feel that way.
