Our ceremony starts at 3 p.m., followed by photos, entertainment, dinner, and dancing under the stars. In true “Mike” style, dinner will be a traditional South African braai—grilled meats, fresh salads, and delicious sides. Drinks will flow all evening, and we hope the night is as unforgettable for you as it will be for us. On Sunday, join us back at the reserve for a more intimate and meaningful rhino experience. Enjoy a relaxed brunch at 11 a.m., followed by time to meet the rhinos up close. If you’re here just for the weekend, thank you for being part of our special day. For those continuing the adventure, we head to Madikwe Private Game Reserve on Monday. You’ll have time to rest Sunday afternoon. Group transport will be arranged, or feel free to organise your own. On arrival, lodge vehicles will take us through the bush—keep your eyes out for wildlife!

Klein-Kariba, a renowned resort 1.5 hours drive from Johannesburg international airport in the area of Bela-Bela, is located just a short drive from our wedding venue. For your convenience, we’ve arranged a dedicated bus service to transport guests to and from the wedding. Please use the links provided to explore accommodation options and secure your cabin.

Nestled within the stunning Madikwe Private Game Reserve, Tau Game Lodge offers an exclusive and intimate safari experience. Unlike public reserves, Madikwe is a private haven—meaning no crowds, no outside vehicles, and uninterrupted moments with Africa’s most incredible wildlife. Located just a scenic 3.5 hour drive from Klein-Kariba, Madikwe is easily accessible by road. We are happy to organise a group transfer for guests to travel together, or you are welcome to arrange your own private transfer if preferred. Please indicate your preference under the “RSVP” tab so we can help coordinate transport accordingly. Tau Game Lodge features 30 luxury chalets, each accommodating 2 to 4 guests (please visit their website to view room options). Your stay includes all meals and two daily game drives: a morning safari with tea in the bush, followed by breakfast and time to relax—perhaps by the pool, where you might catch sight of elephants or other wildlife at the nearby watering hole. After lunch, you’ll enjoy a light afternoon snack before heading out for an unforgettable evening game drive that continues into twilight. Each night concludes with a beautifully prepared dinner under the African sky. We can’t wait to explore the wild with you—However please book in fast as the resort WILL book out!

Shuttle to venue from klein-Kariba

To maintain security, our venue’s location is not disclosed. We will provide a chartered bus service for all guests to and from the venue—please avoid arranging your own transportation. The shuttle will pick you up from the reception area for a short 10 minute journey.

Flight

Transport from Johannesburg to Klein-Kariba

If you’re arriving on the direct Perth to Johannesburg flight on Wednesday, March 17th, landing in Johannesburg on the 18th, we’ll be organising a group transfer to the resort for your convenience. If you’re arriving on a different flight or at another time, we kindly ask that you arrange your own transfer to the venue. Another travel option is to hire a private car from the airport and self drive. Please let us know your travel plans in the RSVP so we can assist where possible!
