How We Met

We met in June 2017 at Born in a Barn, a local bar and grill in Laramie. Loren had just finished his shift as a prep-cook and ordered "barnchos", a favorite in the restaurant. After weeks of covering each others shifts and having good laughs at work, we decided to hangout outside of work and see what happened. Instantly we clicked! I cooked a childhood favorite meal for him, sticky rice and chicken on our first "date". It was not until MONTHS later that I learned he is not the biggest fan of chicken, but he ate it anyways and we still make it for good comfort meals! July 15th we made it official and the rest is history.

Our Engagement

August 13th, 2019

On June 21st, 2019 Loren and I went to Fort Collins to visit my cousin Rose for the night. On our way there we were stuck in traffic due to an accident near Owl Canyon. The only clear radio station at the time was playing a ridiculous song, which we later learned was “Git Up”. Neither of us had heard it before and he declared it the worst song ever made, so naturally I said it had to be our new song that we had to dance our first dance to! Flash forward to August 13th, 2019: I had just gotten home from work and Loren had brought me home a lemonade (my favorite). I had just semi learned the dance to the song and was eager to show off my horrible dance skills. When I finished, I went to drink my lemonade, but the straw was plugged. I pulled it out to find the obstruction was a ring and when I looked back up Loren was on his knee. Now he has talked me out of making the song our first dance song, but it will be played during the reception and we would love for everyone to join us! Hop on YouTube and check out the dance. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=76IAnVEwT5Q

Whats with the pineapples?

Fun Fact: on the upper East Coast pineapples are used as a friendly greeting!

Early on in our love story a seemingly normal trip to Walmart occurred, we would not know until later that it would become a large staple in our love story. On this random evening we made a trip to the only superstore for miles, the Laramie Walmart. After grabbing what we went for (I could not tell you what that was now) we browsed through the clearance clothing. What seemed like hours (mainly because we were not shopping for me) passed while Loren searched through all of the mens sleeping shorts. He finally picked up a pair and said we could leave. The shorts he picked were a bright yellow cotton short with giant pineapples printed around. for months he wore them basically every night! I began teasing him about them, being I do not care for pineapples (at all). Soon every time I went shopping and ran across something with a cute pineapple on it, it somehow found its way into my cart and our home! It only seemed necessary to include this important fruit on our most important day. See if you can find all of the ways we have found to tuck pineapples into our wedding!
