Getting to Castello di Petrata
We recommend flying into Rome or Florence, then taking a direct train to Assisi (around 15 euros, 2 hours). If you prefer driving, rent a car at either airport—Avis or Hertz is a good choice—and the drive to Assisi takes about 2 hours. Kindly note that the drive to the Castello involves a slightly bumpy, 4-mile stretch of dirt road, though it is easily navigable in any car. Alternatively, you can fly into San Francesco d'Assisi Airport, just 25 minutes from the venue. It's ideal for domestic flights and great if you're traveling before or after the wedding. Castello di Petrata is a 15-minute taxi ride from Assisi train station and 25 minutes from the airport.

Should you be arriving by train, disembark at Assisi (Santa Maria degli Angeli). From there, a short 15-minute taxi ride will take you to Castello di Petrata.
