Meg and Evan met in the way lots of millennials meet: on a dating app (…or so they thought). Evan introduced himself first by saying “I feel like I know you from somewhere”. On their first date, they were determined to find out where exactly they might’ve met before. Knowing they both went to TCU, the pair resurfaced their class schedules from 2016 and discovered they sat next to each other in communications class. At the end of their date, Meg kissed Evan goodbye not thinking she would ever see him again (she had bad luck on dating apps). Thankfully she was wrong!
Meg knew Evan was the “one” when he called her every day during her two-week trip to Norway after only meeting a handful of times. When Meg got to meet Evan’s wonderful family and friends, she knew she had someone really incredible to hold onto. During the COVID-19 lockdown in Spring 2020, the two decided to welcome a Goldendoodle puppy, Obi, into their lives. Evan’s become such a great dog dad. Meg loves Evan’s kind, patient, and outgoing spirit. Evan quickly realized that Meg was someone special based on her ability to light up a room with her smile and the joy she brings to those around her. Evan knew Meg was the “one” when she stayed up with Evan and his dad drinking whiskey and dancing to disco music until the sun came up. This feeling was only further enforced when Evan witnessed how easily Meg fit into his wacky Austrian-British family. Evan loves Meg’s extremely generous, compassionate heart and her ability to make anyone feel at home. They are excited to share a life full of good food, travel, sports and trying new things!
Meg and Evan spent New Years in Telluride, Colorado as they had the previous 2 years. Evan’s father joined Meg’s family for the ski trip for the first time, too. Meg had been optimistic there’d be a proposal in her future, but was certain Evan didn’t have a ring and hadn’t asked for her parent’s blessings. New Years Eve came and went without a proposal so, in Meg’s mind, it wouldn’t be happening on this trip. The next morning, Evan asked Meg if she’d like to go out for a lunch date. As they were walking along the snowy riverbank, Meg noticed a tiny sign in the pathway. As she got closer, she noticed it read, “Marry Me”. Evan’s mother had made the sign with Scrabble pieces. Evan was on one cold knee in the snow and it was the easiest “yes” of Meg’s life.
