With a lucky swipe right, David and Meg planned to meet at a craft cocktail bar in downtown Providence on an early fall evening in 2016. However, thanks to the Broadway show Wicked touring through Providence that night, Meg circled forty minutes around The Eddy searching desperately for a parking spot, which fortunately gave her ample opportunity to scope out the Englishman waiting patiently in his cardi on the corner (little did David realize this would only be the first of many times waiting for Meg). Well, that date of Gin and Tonics and Sauvignon Blancs (Meg cautiously agreed to a second drink) marked the beginning for Meg and David, followed by actual phone calls (no texting allowed!) and three dates in five days. Since then, it's been outdoor adventures, farmers markets and kitchen cook-offs (Meg has ceded David some control in the kitchen), traveling, crime show telly nights, lots of beach days, and Saturday mornings watching football. And it's no small matter that Pip and Dewey have adored each other since their very first sniff. How did you know it was meant to be? David: He says, he knew pretty much that first night Meg was the one because it was easy straight away. Oh, and then, for sure, after she made Ina Garten's curried couscous (recipe follows below). Meg: Well, it took Meg a little while longer... But after extensive research, calls with her family exceeding the Verizon contract, she finally knew David was a keeper when he started getting up every Saturday morning to train with her for her first half marathon. That's love. https://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/ina-garten/curried-couscous-recipe-1951578
