Stinson Beach
Stinson Beach is about a 30 minute drive from downtown Mill Valley. Take a walk on the beach, and grab a bite at the Parkside Cafe or Sand Dollar restaurant for lunch. Marin Transit buses go to and from Mill Valley and Stinson Beach. Or hike there via the Dipsea Trail (~7 miles each way).
Wine Country
Head to wine country! Sonoma is only about 45 minutes away, or keep going to Napa Valley. Both have endless wineries to choose from. Some of our favorites are Gloria Ferrer, Buena Vista, Hall, and Frog's Leap.
Shakespeare In the Park
Enjoy a free summer Shakespeare show in our very own Old Mill Park! Bring a sweater -- the park is in the shade and could be cool.
Sausalito Art Festival
There is art, music, food and beverage at the Sausalito Art Festival happening Labor Day Weekend.
Angel Island
Take a ferry from Tiburon to beautiful Angel Island! There is hiking, biking, and a cafe on the island.

Point Reyes National Seashore
Point Reyes Station is a quaint small town about one hour by car up the coast. The lighthouse is iconic. There is lots of hiking in the area. Our personal favorite is the hike to Limantour Beach.
Mountain Home Inn
It's a short hike or drive from Mill Valley to the Mountain Home Inn. The views are beautiful, and you can sit outside for lunch or a glass of wine.
Muir Beach / Muir Woods
Beautiful Muir Beach is a short drive from Mill Valley, or you can make a reservation in advance to visit the giant Redwoods in Muir Woods. Stop at the Pelican Inn and sit on the grass with a beer.
Tennessee Valley Trailhead
There is a variety of lovely hikes at Tennessee Valley trailhead. Hikes with some elevation gain give great views of the ocean and San Francisco, or take the short, flat hike to Tennessee Valley Beach.
Golden Gate Bridge
Walk across the Golden Gate Bridge, or walk along the water at Crissy Fields.
