When we first met, we lived about a mile away from each other, had very similar interests (more on that later), and most definitely had crossed paths at some point in our pasts. So naturally, our meeting began in the most modern of ways for two older souls--online dating. There was certainly some apprehension in admitting this at first, but God works in mysterious ways. It is now but a footnote in our love story, and one that has become a funny tidbit we love to bring up in all its irony. It began with surface level common interests that all seemed to mirror each other. Favorite restaurants and nightlife, among other things, were an easy starting point for us. A trip to Napa Valley for wine tasting, families meeting on Easter Sunday, a friend’s wedding in Oregon, and trips to Newport Beach are all among some of the amazing memories we shared together. All the while, spending our time learning more about each other and falling more deeply in love. It was evident early on that we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together. The year 2020 was shaping up to be the best yet. Then, a global pandemic ensued out of nowhere. Is it possible to begin planning for marriage in the middle of the biggest crisis to hit our country in recent memory? The answer is unequivocally: YES. On June 5, 2020, surrounded by the ones we love the most, Megan said yes to forever. It was the greatest day of our lives. We want to especially thank our parents—Brian, Jill, John, and Carol—for always being a model for our future family. We cannot wait for you all to become a testament to our love story on April 10, 2021, when Megan will be #WalkingAwayWatson!
