We are viewing the style of this party as a cross between a family reunion/picnic and a wedding reception! We will provide food and drinks and entertainment, but it will be more of a casual vibe! We are so excited to have a fun day with everyone!
This will be somewhat of a casual event! We will have a variety of activities, including some active games such as kickball and wiffle ball, as well as many less physical activities. Megan plans to wear a sundress as she won't be participating in active sports, while Tom will be dressing in something that is somewhat nice, but allows him to move and play freely! Please dress appropriately for the experience you want to have!
We will be providing entertainment and lunch, snacks, and drinks. If there is anything in particular you want to bring for your party, such as a snack or a non-alcoholic beverage, please feel free. If you are local, please consider bringing camping chairs or blankets for sitting. The pavilion does have 10 large picnic tables!
Unfortunately, this is a State Park and there is no alcohol permitted. The rangers do drive around and check in on people. We strongly ask that you do not bring any alcohol. We plan to have a meetup at a local bar or beer garden later on in the evening for anyone who wants to partake in drinking then!
Yes! We have included kids that are invited on the RSVP list. If you have any further questions, please ask us!
We have reserved both pavilions that each have their own large parking lots with them so there will be more than enough parking for everyone.
The park is about a 45 minute drive outside of Philadelphia, depending on traffic and your location. If you need any help getting out to the park for the wedding day, please reach out to us and we can arrange some kind of carpool for you!
Once you arrive in the park, you will need to follow signs for Pavilion 11. There is an 11A and 11B that are next to each other; we have reserved both to maximize our space.
The pavilion comes with a public bathroom that is typical to a State Park. We will ensure it is ready for us and has all the necessary supplies, but please know these are not fancy accommodations!
We unfortunately don't have enough people interested to reserve a block for a hotel. We are happy to assist identifying best areas to stay for hotels or air bnbs, please just ask either Megan or Tom! While the main event will be held near Media/Newtown Square area, we suspect most people will stay in Philadelphia proper.
