Strangely enough we met through Facebook! Yes you heard that right! I guess our parents didn’t teach us enough about not talking to strangers lol. Our love story started with just a simple wave 👋 from Stephen on one random night and within a few days I was inviting this stranger to my house. Two short hours of us just laying on the bed talking about our past together made it feel like we had known each other our whole lives, definitely not two strangers meeting for the first time! It only took about 1 month for Stephen to tell me he loved me because I was not going to say it first 🤷‍♀️, the craziest part about it is that I could have told him the first night I met him because that’s when it all started! The first time I met his mom he sent me alone to her work to take her some food I had made for dinner and let me just tell you he had already told me she didn’t like tattoos but boy was she in for a treat because I sure had plenty of them 🤣. Thanksgiving came around and I finally got to meet his daughter(Rileah), let me just tell you she has not left my side since day one and she has made me the best version of myself as if she was actually my own flesh and blood! Let’s fast forward a little, in October of 2024 we picked up a new expensive hobby(golf). At this point I just knew it was going to be awhile before this man would get down on one knee and ask me to be his wife because let’s face it golf is an expensive hobby for one person let alone two people! Two weeks before he proposed on thanksgiving day of 2024 we were sitting in the car and I laughed and told him well I guess I just pushed that proposal a little further out and he laughed and at this point we had been together for 4 years and I just didn’t see it coming anytime soon. Boy did I know just how well he had made me believe he was not going to propose for another at least “3” years! On November 28th, 2024 my whole life changed when I walked in my parents garage to Rileah holding a sign that said ‘will you make it official and become my bonus mom’ and Stephen down on one knee!!! All I could say was about damn time 🤣🤦🏼‍♀️ I know I know looking back now I could have said something nicer but come on I’m a woman for crying out loud! We immediately starting planning and the date was chosen by him and it is a special date because it is his (late)dads birthday and I can’t think of a better day to get married on than one as special as that to him. We have both grown tremendously over these last 5 years together with buying a house, two vehicles, opening up his barbershop and plenty of family vacations with more to come. I honestly could not ask for a better person to spend my life with and I’m pretty sure he feels the same way I hope ( just kidding)! We have brought out the best of each other and you won’t see one without the other often! We look forward to a future of nothing but happiness together!
