Megan and Seth met at work at the Big Island Paper Mill. Megan was supervising on night shift and Seth had just started working there. An inadvertent pressing of an Emergency Stop tore off one of the dryer felts leaving it wrapped up and melted against a dryer journal. The crew spent all night cutting, pulling, and jerking the mangled felt off the machine. In the midst of the chaos, Megan turned to Seth and said "Go get the Bobcat and start pulling." Truly, as romantic as first words can be. For some reason, Seth was hooked (and not just onto the felt). Many say that the moment they first laid eyes on their future husband left them feeling hot and steamy. Cutting a dryer felt off a paper machine while standing over a pulper is undoubtedly hot and steamy. After that night, Seth had a not-so-secret crush on Megan. In fact, everyone at the mill was well aware of this crush EXCEPT Megan. On one outage, in the middle of locking out a pump, Seth finally gained the confidence to make his move. The two started chatting while Seth held a ladder for Megan to climb up in the ceiling to turn a stubborn valve (who said chivalry was dead?). After that, Seth finally did it. He added Megan on Instagram. Seth slid into Megan's DMs, but was turned down twice for a meetup. He didn't know at that time that Megan turns down any event that occurs after 7pm on a weeknight. Finally, on the 3rd attempt, Megan agreed to get a drink with Seth and another co-worker. The rest, is history.

Seth proposed to Megan on the beach in Oak Island, NC. He worked with Megan's mom to plan the perfect evening in front of the most important people in her life - her family. While on the annual family vacation, everyone went to a nice seafood dinner at a restaurant on the beach. Megan's mom told everyone that we were getting family photos on the beach after. After some group photos, the photographer told Seth and I to start walking away from the pier for some couple pictures. As Seth and Megan walked, she noticed a heart drawn in the sand. The two stepped into the heart, and Seth dropped to one knee. In the background, the couple's song, Beautiful Crazy, played. [side note - Seth was first to say "I Love You", but Megan finally reciprocated at a Luke Combs concert while he was singing an acoustic version of the song Beautiful Crazy.] Neither Megan nor Seth remember what was said. They do both remember an excited and tearful YES coming from Megan. After the excitement, they celebrated with some champagne and additional photos to capture the moment.
