FAQs

Hopefully you will find the answers to all of your questions on this page. If not please contact the mother of the bride Tami at (760) 717-6001 or the matron of honor, Cassie at (951) 265-5109.
Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

Please RSVP by November 1st. Otherwise you will start receiving daily phone calls from the bride which may get annoying. We will not be able to accommodate guests who have not RSVP'd.

Question

Do I mail back my RSVP or do I RSVP online?

Answer

There are no RSVP cards included in the invitation, please RSVP online only.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

When you type in your name on the RSVP form, it will indicate if you have been given a plus one.

Question

Can I bring kids to the wedding?

Answer

Yes! This is a kid friendly wedding, please RSVP for you and your children on the RSVP page.

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

Assuming all goes according to plan (big Ha Ha to that one, right?), the ceremony will start promptly at 3:30pm. Please arrive 10-15 minutes prior to find your seats and mingle with the other guests.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

If you know me, you know that I am the type of girl that goes all out on parties and events. If you are on the grooms side... Hi! I'm Megan and I am an over-planner and love to make things very "extra". In spirit of this, the dress code is semi-formal. Anything ranging from a gown/tux to cocktail dress/suit is acceptable. Or go edgy with a jumpsuit! Please no jeans.

Question

Can I take pictures during the ceremony?

Answer

NO. Please please please do not have your phones out during the ceremony. It is an utter nightmare for the very fancy and expensive photographer that we have hired to capture the special day. We will do a moment at the beginning of the ceremony for you to take a photo if you so wish, after that please put phones away.

Question

Can I take pictures during the reception?

Answer

YES. Please take photos during the reception, and if you post them on social media please use the hashtag #NewlywedNelsons

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

Yes! The venue has a very large free parking lot.

Question

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

If you have any dietary restrictions, ie allergies or vegetarian/vegan please notify the bride asap so she can coordinate a separate meal for you.

Question

Is there a separate kids meal?

Answer

No there is not. Trust me, as the mother of a picky eater I know how frustrating that can be, but we did not have an option for one.

Question

Are there any other events that I should know about around the wedding?

Answer

Yes! The night before the wedding we will be having a Welcome Bonfire, anyone who arrives to the venue a day early is welcome to come and enjoy some hot chocolate and s'mores. Please make sure you RSVP to that as well if you plan to come.

Question

Are there hotel room blocks?

Answer

No, there was no offered discount for blocking hotel rooms. But there are a variety of places nearby, please see the Travel page for my recommendations.

Question

Will I be able to check in to my room at the venue early to get ready?

Answer

Unfortunately check in is at 3pm and the ceremony starts at 3:30, so that doesn't really leave much time to get ready onsite. You are more than welcome to stay the night before the wedding as well and enjoy the many amenities that Wonder Valley has to offer, or to call and request an early check in. However I can not guarantee that will be accommodated.

Question

Will there be a shuttle to/from the hotels?

Answer

No. Guests can stay directly on the property and walk over to the ceremony, or can drive in from their chosen hotel. There is a large free parking lot on property.

Question

What will the weather be like?

Answer

Historically speaking, the weather in Sanger is in the high 60's to low 70's in early December. Typical California weather!

Question

Will there be a cocktail hour between the ceremony and reception?

Answer

Yes there will be. The bride and groom will be using this time to take photos with family prior to the reception. Don't worry though, there will be hors d'oeuvres and beverages served during this time :)

Question

How do we get to the venue?

Answer

From Fresno you will take the 180 East, and turn left on N Piedra Rd, then right on N Elwood Rd and follow that to the venue. The directions from google maps or Waze will want you to turn into the venue one turn too soon, that is a service only entrance so please continue on another 200ft or so and turn when you see the big Wonder Valley sign.

Question

Is the drive an easy one?

Answer

I am so glad you asked. once you turn off of the 180 East, you will start to wind through the hills. The road is very windy and very narrow so please drive slow and be cautious of your surroundings. There are also a few areas where the cows are allowed to roam freely and may enter the road, be mindful of them as well.

Question

Are there other activities at the venue?

Answer

So. Many. If you are coming a day early or staying a day late, I recommend checking out the Wonder Valley website and contacting them directly to book an activity. None of the activities are included as a wedding guest, but quite a few are included with a nightly stay. If you are interested in one that is not included, ie horseback riding, paintball, go karts, rope course, etc., you need to book at least 30 days in advance.
