Our Story
How We Met
Megan and Ryan met on July 24, 2014 while Megan was working at Camp Resolute and Adventure Day Camp in Bolton, MA, and Ryan was attending the camp with his Boy Scout troop. Megan had mutual friends in Ryan's troop and stayed after work to visit with them. Once there, Megan and Ryan met for the first time and instantly clicked. Megan's Venture Crew and Ryan's troop went on campouts together since they were in neighboring towns and shared Leaders. After seeing each other at some events, Megan and Ryan texted over the next year, until they both realized they liked each other and wanted to make things official. Ryan asked Megan to be his girlfriend on November 15, 2015, and the rest is history!
How He Asked
Megan and Ryan like to visit Cape Cod, and they especially like to visit during the winter when there are less people around. This year was no different, and they had planned their winter Cape trip for the end of January. Ryan was persistent with going to the Cape on January 21, 2023 and Megan wanted to wait until the next weekend as there was snow in the forecast. Fighting rain and snow, Ryan drove to the Cape to their destination for the day, the Cape Cod National Seashore, specifically Nauset Light Beach. This beach is special to Megan and Ryan as that is one of the first places they vacationed together. After they parked and put on their winter gear, the couple made their way down to the beach. Once on the beach, Megan started to film the waves. Ryan had already gotten down on one knee at this point, and called to Megan to turn around. As she did, she gasped and asked him, "Are you serious?!". Ryan asked Megan to marry him, and with a resounding "YES!" the pair were then engaged!
