Welcome to our beginning!

Sometimes the best laid plans are the ones that fall through. That night, Megan planned to see a play with friends, but it was sold out, so they decided to check out some live music nearby at Slidebar in downtown Fullerton. The ladies first sat at the bar for a drink and girl talk. At some point, a gentleman sat next to Megan, having unexpectedly decided to stop off for a drink before walking home to end his afternoon out with friends. The unlit cigar in his hand, still potent from being half enjoyed earlier in the day, caused Megan to complain to her girlfriends about the man sitting next to her (unbeknownst to him). Eventually he needed to use the restroom. He looked over and saw Megan, so he asked her to watch his drink and save his seat. She blurted her surprise that he trusted her not to drug him, so he laughed knowing he now had to talk to this woman. They spent the evening laughing until they realized the place was being overrun with man-buns. He asked to walk her to her car, got her number, but couldn’t wait until she arrived home before he texted. For their first anniversary, Rick and Megan returned for brunch at Slidebar to reminisce about that fateful night. They returned once again on New Years Eve 2021, though now closed because of the pandemic, for Rick to get down on one knee and proclaim that his whole life changed on that unexpected night. After all, sometimes a chance encounter can lead to destiny.
