We're getting Married!

We have actually known each other since Middle school where we worked together on a couple of theater productions and had some mutual friends, but our paths didn’t cross that often. Nick was busy with band, and I was involved in chorus and theater. It wasn’t until a couple years ago that we reconnected at a Dungeons and Dragons game with mutual friends. We became great friends and after several months of hanging out, many D&D sessions, Friends trivia nights, and a game of truth or dare where Nick revealed he had a crush on me in high school he finally approached me and said, “I would really like to take you out on a date sometime”. The rest is history! There have been so many great adventures since and we both found a best friend in each other and our soulmates. We cannot wait to start this next chapter of our lives as husband and wife, and we feel very blessed to have so many special people in our live to love and support us on this next journey.

It all began with a night out to dinner with his moms. Nick said watching me that night he was fascinated by how much I loved his family and how engaged we were with each other. It occurred to him in that moment that he knew for sure we were meant to be together, and he didn’t want to wait a moment longer. Nick started planning the proposal the very next day, he placed a reservation at Waterman's Grill in Virginia Beach and planned the perfect beach day for us. His grandfather, who recently passed away in 2021, had left Nick’s great grandmother’s engagement ring with him some years back in hopes that when he found “the one” that he would propose with it. Nick had the ring checked for sizing but that didn’t need to be done, the ring was already a perfect fit. On April 5th 2021, we had a wonderful day on the beach and then headed off to Waterman’s for dinner. At the end of our meal the server approached us asking if there was anything else she could get for the two of us. Nick handed her his phone, and she began recording (The whole restaurant staff knew a week in advance and were well prepared). Nick took me by the hand and said, “Megan you are my best friend and I love you. I never thought I could possibly love anyone as much as I love you. We have had so many adventures together, and now I want to take the greatest journey of all with you.” Nick rose from his seat, got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. Of course, I said “YES!”
