Sonnenberg Gardens & Mansion State Historic Park

Whether strolling through its flower-filled gardens, picnicking under its majestic trees or touring its magnificent mansion, Sonnenberg Gardens and Mansion State Historic Park is a very special place. The 50-acre estate is one of just two public gardens in all of the New York State Parks System. A serene respite just blocks away from downtown Canandaigua, Sonnenberg is a gift to the community from Frederick Ferris and Mary Clark Thompson.

Granger Homestead and Carriage Museum

Travel back in time as one of our knowledgeable docents leads you through the Granger Homestead & Carriage Museum. Learn about Gideon Granger, the longest serving Postmaster General of the United States, and the four generations of Grangers who lived in this magnificent home on over 12 acres of land.

New York Kitchen

New York Kitchen is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization founded in 2006 with a mission to educate, engage and excite visitors of the incredible agricultural, craft beverage and culinary industries in New York State. NYK’s state-of-the-art facility features two Hands-On Kitchens, the Wine Spectator Educational Theater, a tasting room, private dining room, and a farm-to-table style restaurant with full bar on the second floor overlooking Canandaigua Lake. Operating year-round, they offer hands-on cooking and craft beverage pairing classes, indoor and outdoor food and beverage events and can host private events that will surely appeal to locals and visitors alike.

Canandaigua Lake Wine Trail

A collection of wineries nearby Canandaigua Lake. Some wineries are large, others smaller and more intimate, and some few with beer or cider offered as well. In addition, many restaurants, hotels, bed and breakfasts, attractions, shopping and golf can be found along the trail. The trail, just 22 miles long, is perfect to do in one day and has something for everyone to explore!
