How do I know if I’m invited to the ceremony?

Answer

We are having a small, intimate ceremony for just closest family and friends. If you are invited the ceremony, you will be asked to RSVP on the RSVP page.

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

To assist us with planning, please RSVP to events as soon as possible but we ask that all final RSVPs be submitted by Wednesday, July 1, 2026.

What time should I arrive at the ceremony? Reception?

Answer

Our ceremony will begin promptly at 3:00 PM and we are asking invited guests to arrive at least 30 minutes before our ceremony begins. Guests invited to our reception, please arrive 15 to 30 minutes early to allow time for parking, to find your seat, and be ready for our entry at 4:00 PM!

Can I take photos during the ceremony?

Answer

We kindly ask that you put your phones and cameras away during the ceremony. We want you all to be present with us in the moment. We have a professional photographer capturing the ceremony for us. Other than the ceremony, absolutely! We encourage you to take as many photos and videos as you'd like. We would love for you to send us your favorites!

Are kids welcome?

Answer

We love your kiddos but unless explicitly invited, this will be a child-free celebration. The majority of guests will be 18 years or older. Thank you for your understanding! Please note that later in the evening, the reception will transition to adult music and dancing!

Can I bring a date?

Answer

Due to limited space, we are only able to accommodate the guests formally invited. If you received a plus one they will appear under your name when you RSVP. Thank you for your understanding!

What is the dress code?

Answer

The dress code for our ceremony and reception is semi-formal. We suggest floor-length dresses, pantsuits, suits (tie-optional), or business-casual. We'd prefer neutral and fall tones but we're not picky; we want you to be dressy but comfortable! Please take into consideration that our ceremony will take place outside (weather permitting) on the Big Meadows Lodge Terrace and it can be windy and chilly in the mountains in early November!

Will there be alcohol?

Answer

We will have a cash bar with a variety of beer, wine, and liquor options available at the venue for guests to enjoy! Also, please note that all alcohol purchases will include tax and gratuity!

Is there anything we should know about the area?

Answer

Entry into Skyline Drive costs $30 per vehicle and grants you 7-day access. DEBIT/CREDIT CARD PURCHASES ONLY! More information can be found on the National Park Service website. We recommend getting gas before entering Skyline Drive! There is only one gas station on Skyline Drive and it is at Big Meadows. Big Meadows Wayside is a gas station/convenience store/gift shop located at the entry of Big Meadows that sells grab-and-go food. Food can be found within Big Meadows at New Market Taproom (open 2:30-10:30 PM) and Spotswood Dining Room within Big Meadows Lodge (open for breakfast from 7:30-10:30 AM, lunch from 12:00-2:30 PM, and dinner from 5:00-9:00 PM). Big Meadows Lodge is located within Shenandoah National Park so the majority of close by options are scenic hikes and catching the end of leaf-peeping season! We recommend Dark Hollow Falls (1.4 mile hike roundtrip with waterfalls and beautiful views!) Beware of wildlife! It’s recommended that you don’t leave food in your car and that you keep doors locked; bears are smart and have been known to open them! 😂
