Hi All! Our Wedding invitations were sent out prior to Governor Inslee's announcement last week... We are still planning on getting married and making sure everyone feels safe and socially distanced. Plans have changed for our "Welcome Reception" on Friday night at the Skamania Lodge, we are making it takeout and due to the Governor's new rules we have to have household groups of up to 5 seated outside on the lawn. Every event planned for the weekend will be held outdoors. We are limiting the amount of people joining us at our Ceremony and Reception. We understand if you aren't able to make it but we ask to please pray for us during this time of our lives. We will be updating our website along the way, if there are anymore questions feel free to reach out. We hope everyone remains safe and healthy. Don't forget to bring your mask! Love, Megan & Kjell
We met before winter break at Boise State in 2014 through friends. They both recommended we have a movie night with them. I remember first walking into Kjell's friend's house and noticing Kjell sitting on the couch and thinking how cute he was! We introduced one another and watched the movie "Stand by Me". A few weeks later it was winter break and we had to wait a full month to see one another but we talked everyday. Although I had grown up in the country outside of a small town and Kjell grew up in the heart of Seattle, we had similar interests. When we were both back in Boise, we met back up and four days after Kjell's birthday, January 24th, 2015, he asked me out and we became a couple.
It was New Year's Eve in Seattle and we were getting ready for a dinner at AQUA by El Gaucho, a restaurant on the waterfront, which we had been to before for special occasions. I told my friends in the past how cool a New Year's Eve engagement would be... We got to the restaurant and Kjell told me to wait outside by the water to watch the fireworks that were going off at the Space Needle right up above. He ran inside to "check on our table." Ten minutes go by and he comes running out and tells me we should walk down to the waterfront to get a better view of the fireworks. A few minutes into our walk Kjell pulled me in and told me how he knew the moment he saw me at his friend's house that I was the one, and that he has loved me ever since. He gets down on one knee and asked the question. I said yes! Meanwhile a photographer he had hired was snapping shots of us. We had a wonderful dinner and went back to his parent's house where a surprise engagement party with our close friends and family was taking place. It was the perfect way to end the decade.
