We “bumbled” into each other at the Forest Hills train station in Queens, NY, after work on a warm July evening. Crowded bars from a nearby concert led us to a quiet, cozy pizza shop, where easy conversation, lots of laughs, and shared interests quickly turned into a second date. Before long, we realized we had a lot in common, but even more special were our shared core values and our love of friends and family. Our worlds just seemed to fit together, like we were always meant to meet, and to our surprise, our already connected backgrounds proved that there’s something to that invisible string theory. For the past few years, we’ve had a blast, splitting our time between Long Beach and Forest Hills. Kevin adjusted to life on Long Island, time at the beach and sailing the Sound (sunscreen always in hand!), and Megan learned more about soccer, baseball, and hockey, the importance of a pub with a good snug, and of course, life's small pleasures like sharing a warm cup of tea paired with biscuits in the evening. Last summer, while visiting Austria, Kevin proposed in the Mirabell Gardens, made famous by the legendary “Do-Re-Mi” scene from The Sound of Music (Megan’s favorite movie). It wasn’t just a yes – it was an “absolutely!” In short, ‘we must have done something good!’
