We’re getting married!

Josh and Megan originally met in Tampa through a mutual friend and fraternity brother; Megan would visit Tampa from college in Orlando pretty often. They were at the same events and were friendly enough, so Josh asked Megan out, to which she laughed and said no (in her defense, she didn't think it had been a serious question and was not ready to date anyone. Megan also has no memory of laughing at said question). Not long after, Josh graduated from USF and went off to the Marines while Megan graduated from UCF and found herself in New York City. One day, after not talking to each other for years, a random Facebook message from Josh turned into a conversation, a conversation into meeting up when they were on the same coast, and meeting up into realizing they had a mutual interest in each other. Over the next few years, they would date long-distance while Megan was still in NYC and Josh was in other states/deployed. After many trips to different coasts to visit each other, lots of video-chatting and letter writing, and even a trip to Germany, Megan and Josh finally moved in together to their current home in Sneads Ferry, North Carolina. They make each other laugh and support each other and thats just the start of it!

Josh had been inviting his parents to the East Coast for years but back-to-back deployments and COVID prevented anything of the sort. After Josh's last deployment to Africa, he asked if when he got back, Megan wanted to move down from NYC and live together. Finally getting the opportunity to introduce Megan to his parents and his son, he secretly invited his parents to the East Coast with the intention of proposing and surprising everyone. After a night of wine, s'mores, and campfire, he asked her to be part of their family. She giggled for a few minutes, but finally said yes!
