We met on Hinge, as was the style at the time
After exchanging a few lengthy explanations of our interests (and a few missed signals); we were both excited to go out. It didn't quite go as planned, but we wandered to a pizza restaurant, around a lake, and ultimately back to the Redline kiss and ride, chatting all the way. And we haven't stopped since. We surprised everyone (including ourselves) with our engagement but it’s the best impulsive decision either of us has ever made.
We have experienced so much more joy
Our first trip to Charleston, SC was magical with dolphin sightings in the harbor, recovering cold-shocked turtles in the aquarium, and the best fried artichoke the city had to offer. We’ve braved the crowds at the cherry blossom festival, soaked in the quiet of Sunset Beach, and rejoiced as friends got married in Ithaca, Charlottesville, Dundalk, and Houston. In each other, we've found a deeper joy in those things we already loved and new loves through each other's eyes.
Sharing other's burdens is part of love
Even in the short time we've been together, we've supported each other through unemployment, shutdowns, and loss, not to mention moving once, twice, and thrice. However, these challenges showed us that we can rely on each other to honestly share our struggles and work through them together.
friends and family
We are so grateful for all of you, both for the love you've shown us as a couple and for the love you showed each of us when we hadn't met. Once we decided to pursue this relationship, we both ran a pleasant but extensive gauntlet of meeting most each other's friends and family in about two months. It was an incredible reminder of how many people have loved us over the years, and we are incredibly grateful for your wisdom (even when it was ignored), support (especially in the form of food), and companionship in good times and bad. We hope this celebration of our love also reflects all the love you have given us over the years, both individually and as a new couple.
