Question
What should I wear?
Answer
We would love to see our family and friends get dressed up with us! We are requesting a semi-formal dress code for our evening. This means cocktail, semi-formal, or formal dresses. Please remember that the weather in South Carolina during October can be very unpredictable; it can vary anywhere between 80-60 degrees! The venue is also located by the water, which can get chilly after dark, so bring a jacket if you get cold easily!

What kind of shoes should I wear?
Answer
Our venue will require you to walk in grassy, sandy, and gravel areas. So please keep this in mind when choosing your footwear.

Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?
Answer
The ceremony and reception will be held on the Cotton Dock, which is a covered outdoor venue.
Question
What time should I arrive?
Answer
Traffic can be heavy in this area so please leave plenty of time to arrive at the venue. Guests may begin arriving at 5:00pm but please arrive no later than 5:45pm for a ceremony start at 6pm. Due to the location of the ceremony cars arriving following 5:50 will not be allowed through the front gate until the completion of the ceremony.

Where should I park?
Answer
There will be a gate attendant directing you when you pull into the venue. Please enjoy the historic Avenue of Oaks as you make your way to the parking area. A golf cart will be available to transport you from the parking area to the ceremony location for your convenience.

Is there going to be an open bar?
Answer
Yes, we will have an open bar available for all guests!

Is is okay to take pictures during the wedding?
Answer
We are having an "unplugged" ceremony. This just means that we kindly ask that all phones and devices be put away and turned on silent/turned off during the ceremony. Why? Well, we've hired a professional to capture some of the most important moments and we'd hate to have a well-meaning person's phone/device blocking that moment for her to capture. After the ceremony feel free to take as many photos as you want!

Can I bring a date?
Answer
We unfortunately cannot accommodate additional guests. Due to limited capacity, we can only allow people named on the save the date.

Answer
Mention that you are in the Book/Hartman Wedding anytime during the weekend and receive free entry into Boone Hall Plantation and Gardens!
